The Old Bridge of Pershore....

This Bridge was listed in the Doomsday Book and there has been a bridge here since before 1000 AD but this was built circa 1500 and the central span was destroyed in the Civil War to prevent soldiers marching over to capture the town, in doing the demolition the center section fell in prematurely and 40 men were thrown into the surging river and drowned.The center section was rebuilt and that can be seen by the different colour stone work that is now on the bridge.

We headed off to Evesham to have a walk around the town and find a pub to have dinner in tonight.
