NZ Summer 2024

Ohau Stream Seal Reserve

A travelling day today getting home from Kaikoura although only 250 kilometres and not being in a rush there was plenty of time to stop off at Ohau Stream to view the seals and get my Blips.

Identifying clockwise the giant Crayfish is at a cafe who specialise in Crayfish, there's another closer to Kaikoura called Nin's Bin which is very well known, Karaka Lobster makes it look like the Crayfish are fighting back!

The next is a seal who thought her rock was safe from the surf.
Bottom right is two big Bull Males fighting it out for supremacy which was still going on as we left.

Finally a few Shags (Cormorants) possibly young waiting for a feed.

It's been a pleasant relaxing few days and I expect we will do it again in the future.
