Great grandfather's inheritance

My husband's great grandfather Andreas (Antti) took lots of photos. Thank to his family quite a lot of the glass negatives have been preserved. My husband Ilkka wanted to find out about them after we visited a photo exhibition where we saw photos developed of glass negatives. Ilkka has developed a few hundred photos already, but there is still some work to do.

The negatives had been packed in the original boxes and the coverings were newspaper sheets from 60's, packed by my husband's deceased father. The photos seem to be quite valuable, took in 1910-1916, Andreas died in 1920. There are portraits and city views from Helsinki, our capital city and portraits and village views of a northern town Simo, where Andreas lived too.

The first thing to do is to clean the plates. Here is my dear husband, cleaning :) There will be more blips about the process.
