Neigh-bours
This weekend I am keeping an eye on, and feeding, my nearest neighbours' menagerie while they are on a high country horse-riding adventure.
In addition to Puddles the horse, there are two dogs, a pig, six sheep, 18 hens and three cattle to check a couple of times a day.
Puddles is bereft because his two buddies, Nah and Lily, are off up in the high country. He's too old for four days on the go, so he stays at home and has to make do with neck rubs from me. I love his velvety nose and the smell of him.
They are the best of neighbours, who look out for me whenever I'm in need. And sometimes when I'm not. It is not a chore to help them out in return.
