Bike in the bush

It was a lovely sunny day so we decided to head to Xwaaqw'um to see if there was any damage. One of the creeks had overflowed and was running down the road, but it was passable. When we started walking down the main trail to the bay, we heard trucks behind us. It was the Parks Board guys and a guy who operates a tree cutting business. We weren't able to go all the way down to the bay because the guys were chainsawing and clearing a tree that had come down. It was good to get some sun and have a walk, even if it was a bit shorter than usual.
On the way home, work had resumed on the road damage closest to us. We had to stop and wait while the debris was loaded onto a truck to be hauled away. Progress is being made, and I'm so thankful for the hard-working crews that are clearing the routes. I added an extra of the CAT and truck and some of the cars waiting on the other side. Not a great photo but something I want to record.
