The accidental finding

Love and other fairytales

This is the outline of Stroud's own Adam Horovitz, launching his latest poetry book, Love and other fairytales. Also present was fiddler Becky Dellow, launching her solo album Take her out and air her, and the poet Alun Hughes who read several poems about the Heavens, the wooded valley behind our house. I bought Becky's CD, and hope to get Adam's book soon, and Alun's book too, when it comes out.

I can't tell you how good it is to attend live music and poetry again! I've noticed that I do find socialising quite tiring, though. Maybe it's because I have to go out, and wear clothes instead of pyjamas, and try and make intelligent or even intelligible remarks! There were five of is in our group and the seating was arranged cabaret style, chairs grouped around tables. Much the best way, I felt, more relaxed than straight lines.

Steve and I attended a Christmas fayre (!) at a village pub on the hillside. Though there was very little space in which to display our wayres, we both did well and I enjoyed the festive atmosphere. When we got home, an Asda delivery lorry was parked at an angle to the kerb outside our house, and an ice cream van was right behind it, peddling its wares. I have long suspected the van of selling drugs, but it seemed to be dealing in ice cream today.

Eventually all the vehicles moved and we were able to unload ( note: I still oppose residents parking permits , see yesterday's blip).
