Chez Angus
I drive to Cumnock, or thereabouts. Angus meets me on the main road and ferries me up to site. It’s drizzling while we dismantle the caravan, but it packs away neatly enough.
Lunch in Auchinleck Tesco car park. Then down to Kirkconnel. The new site is an isolated car park that’s clearly used for fly tipping and late night activities. The rest of the planting crew will turn up over the next two days, but tonight Angus will be here on his own.
We wait for a rain cloud to pass before reassembling the caravan (extra). I go down to the village to buy a pint of milk and fill the water butt. A cup of tea, some tinkering with the stove door and then it’s home again for me.
Cabbage pastie, potato salad, cole slaw and green leaves for tea. And a couple of films on the big screen.
