Twenty-two and Counting
Overcast and a bit cold if 31 degrees F is considered cold. We were out of bed at 5:30. Ate a quick bite and headed to Columbia, MD for Brooklyn’s soccer game. The sun was just rising as we crossed the bridge into Calvert Co. when I told Brookie we’d go, I had no idea the soccer park was over two hours away, that her first game was at 9:00 in the morning or that it would be below freezing. But I am so glad we went. Her team won both games, 4-0 and 4-1. There was no place Granddad and I would have preferred to spend our anniversary. On the other hand, we could have skipped going to the bath and body store in the mall but I saved $81 going today while the soaps I wanted were on sale. With the lines winding throughout the store, it took forever to pay for my items. Hubby and I had a nice quiet lunch around 3:30 pm but that meant we could not get home for our 5:00 pm Mass. We stopped at a small country church that was about halfway home. Hubby overdid it, carrying his lawn chair from the first game to the car. My daughter took over after that. As much as we’d love to watch tomorrow’s games, I think we’ll let him elevate the leg with heat and ice. Enjoy every day possible with family because one day you won’t have the luxury. Stay safe and warm friends. We plan to enjoy a fire when we get home. Thanks for visiting. "Grow old with me, the best is yet to be." - Robert Browning
