Gifts From the Heart
Sunny and chilly all day. We got to sleep in a bit today. My only outing was scheduled for 10:00 am. Our local fire department auxiliary hosted a craft fair. The place was packed with every type of artisan craft and shoppers. My youngest daughter and her children were also shopping there. Mack had a bag that I wasn’t allowed to peek in - can’t wait till Christmas!! I really prefer to give well made homemade gifts. My friend and her daughter are craftsmen and they had my pre-ordered gifts ready for me. I buy homemade chocolate “turtles” and fruit cakes from Cheryl as part of my BIL and mother’s Christmas gifts. Brandi does laser woodcutting. She made the “Poochie” tags for our hoops earlier this year. I found some very nice ornaments at her booth. Before I left the fair, I had several bags of treasures for family members including my sister’s 65th birthday gift. Will be hard to wait till May to give it to her. My blip is of one of my favorites displays: the trees’ ornaments create a scene (adorable woodland animals, the Nativity, etc.). But I certainly do not need one more Christmas decoration. Instead, I bought a pound of stuffed ham and chocolate pound cake for us. Hubby worked on exercising and knee therapy to try to undo yesterday’s excess activity. He rested a lot. I had some house chores to finish, more Christmas list work. We received wonderful news: my granddaughter’s soccer team won the championship - way to go Brookie. Leftovers for dinner so the evening is free. Take care everyone. Sure hope you find special gifts under your tree soon. Thanks for stopping by. “I think people want something a bit different and not mass produced, and they value the love and skill that goes into something a person has made.” – Emily Winter
