Red-billed Tropicbird
This morning we went to the Plaza Islands and made our way up to the top of a cliff where we could see various birds flying by at eye level. There were also marine iguanas - which are all basically black - both in and out of the water; and land iguanas - more colorful; and brown pelicans. Those are in the extras. There were also all sorts of other things, of course. And there is NO place you can go in the Galápagos Islands without tripping over sea lions. I'll get a photo of sea lions attached to at least one of these blips!
In the afternoon we went to Santa Fe Island where we saw more things - including the endemic Santa Fe rat - which has been threatened, but is now coming back and we saw several of them which made our guide very happy. And also the Galápagos mockingbird. There turn out to be both Galápagos mockingbirds, plus mockingbirds that are endemic to specific islands. They hope around right under your feet!
