A day at the beach

Got myself a new lens this week and went out to play today. Drove out to the estuary between Malahide and Donabate, just north of Dublin, and got some fowl shots, but couldn't decide which one to blip. Eventually chose this redshank posing on a rock, but put a few others in as extras: Jenny wren, Billy buzzard, Gordon godwit (bar-tailed), Ernie eagret and Bernie brent goose with all his friends. Saw a flock of lapwings and a pair of greenfinches as well, but didn't get good shots of those.

The moon was still up at 8am so I started on that this morning and put it in as an extra as well --- after the eclipse on Friday it's a little past full and craters are beginning to appear along the east limb.
