Stroud!
Today the sun shone brightly as the temperature plummeted to a much more seasonal 6 degrees.
After a long catch up video call with one of our oldest friends in Edinburgh we headed out in the even brighter afternoon sun in search of a former Cotswold piano makers factory which is now a sofa showroom. It is part of the same chain that we used to buy a sofa for our Edinburgh house. We were made welcome as returning customers and rewarded with a seasonal discount to match the falling temperatures!
We will, however, have to wait until March for our arm chair to be built and delivered. (Built in the UK using British materials including Harris tweed.)
Afterwards we took a spin round Stroud, including purchasing some food from Waitrose but realised that we were a day late to catch the famous weekly Stroud makers’ market. We will be back on a Friday or Saturday next time.
On our way home we detoured through one of the nearby villages where we used to have our own house. It was looking very neglected and the neighbouring house is now a short term holiday let. Perhaps memories are best left happily un-revisited down that eponymous lane after all?
