Toad of Jasmine’s Compost Hall
This revolting creature is a cane toad, brought to Australia in the 1930s to control destructive beetles in the sugar cane crops in Queensland. 102 were brought in then and now there is over 200 million. There has been a large depletion of some native species that die from eating the toads and humans and pets have been poisoned.
This charming example took up residence in our compost bin along with a couple of mates. Needless to say, they no longer live there….or anywhere.
