Cavolo Nero

This year I did a little experiment with brassica and tried growing a few plants among flowers, which apparently hides them from pigeons. It seems to have worked (but it made it practically impossible to cover them with insect mesh and didn't stop cabbage whitefly).

I picked some Cavolo Nero today. I've never been a big fan of it - I prefer kale - but beggars can't be choosers at this time of year!
