Wai O Tapu

Today we set off early to get to Wai O Tapu in time to see the Lady Knox Geyser blow her stack. We were joined by copious amounts of tourists who disappeared rather quickly after it started. We stayed and enjoyed the show for quite some time, and were able to get up nice and close to it.

Afterwards, we went for a walk around the whole of the park and saw all of the sights. It is a thermal wonderland, and the colours in the water are amazing. It's a bit of a unique place. My girls were quite tired after this walk, so we didn't join Our Lucy and Nick for their trip to Waimangu, which is another fantastic place for a visit. Instead, we went and had a lovely lunch, then went back to the place we've rented and hung out as a family in the spa pool.

In the evening we had a BBQ tea, then after the kids went to bed, we watched Sione's Wedding and then had another spa. Our Lucy and Nick had really earned their spa after their monster walking day.
