Luge-Tastic!

We started the day by having a wander around Kuirau Park and looking at all the natural thermal activity there. Bubbling mud pools everywhere, and a couple of thermal pools that are safe for paddling. It's a really great place to visit if you are in Rotorua, plus it has an excellent playground for kids of all ages, there was a coach load of Korean pensioners who were having a grand time on the climbing aparatus.

Afterwards we headed to the Luge (as modelled here by Nick and Our Lucy). You get there via a gondola ride up the side of the hill, and then it is carting down in the luges, and back up via a chair lift. We also had a go on the Sky Swing which was just crazy. The classic quote from the Youngest as she was on it with the Husband was "How are you having fun when I am so scared?!"

Our Lucy and Nick left before we did, as they had booked themselves on a Hobbiton Set Tour in Matamata. Apparently it is well worth the visit.

Home tonight, after a very fun filled and hectic weekend.
