Mud
A lovely surprise this morning, when we joined our Zoom singing group and discovered that Hannah was leading us today. She has the knack of getting the pace just right - quite a skill when she can't actually hear us singing. She taught us songs with an American flavour today - a nod towards Thanksgiving.
The morning sunshine had disappeared by the time we got out for a walk, and it was pretty chilly. We were on the St Cuthbert's Way again, a bit higher than last week. Then, the colours were vibrant rust, gold and emerald. Today all was muted grey, ochre and brown.
Up there some heavy duty cultivation has been happening. The surface has been remodelled into a tapestry of tyre tracks. I found a subject for today's Abstract Thursday challenge - theme 'texture'. It probably helped that the temperature was just above freezing, which kept the patterns nice and crisp.
