Disappointed but not surprised

L and I headed off to Edinburgh this morning …… blue skies and sunshine …… what could be better?

We started off at the much reduced Christmas Market and the wind was beginning to rise ……. we headed up to the fabulous museum in Chamber Street where we discovered that the Festival of Lights at Edinburgh Castle had been cancelled because the the dangerously high winds.

We had a coffee and then started to make our way back down to Waverley Station. As were traced our path through the Christmas Market we could see the pods on the Big Wheel being dismantled and then at about half past two a message came over the tannoy that the market was closing early … immediately in fact.

We had no problem getting a train back to Glasgow but there was a very long queue at the information point ….. guess that many trains were cancelled.
