With M living down here now, there are 3 of us Girl Fridays living south, away from Christchurch. The 3rd, who shifted here about 6 years ago, lives over at Lake Hawea.
She got a group of her girl friends together for a meal, a month or two after the Christchurch February quake in 2011, and we’ve been getting together fairly regularly, ever since. She called us Girl Fridays - we met on Fridays!
There are 6 others still living in Christchurch.
We’ve been a wonderful support group for each other, often meeting for a meal together or some other activity. We very seldom talked about the quakes; we didn’t need to. We’d all been there and knew how it had been for each other. Amazing really.
