Live music session

It was great to take my flute and whistle down the road to our beautiful Village Club this afternoon to take part in a pop-up traditional music session. It was the sort where one of the assembled eight fiddlers, a pianist, a bodhran player and a concertina player launched into a tune and everyone could join in. No sheet music involved. Being a long-standing 'playing from music' player this was a challenge for me but I managed to join in (quietly) more than I had anticipated. I've had a long standing ambition to be able to do this so I'm glad I overcame my nerves and went along.
