Pecking order

The pigeon was definitely the boss when it came to protecting his patch of birdseed. Surprisingly he saw off the jackdaws and the magpies. This was the first real snow of the winter to lie for more than a few hours but there was still a golden moment when the sun rose. The extra is a magpie with attitude.
