Birthday parties in a time of Covid variants

A friend's 70th birthday involved a masked indoor gathering of old coots like us. Here's Bob, talking about the Great Plague and the similarities between this pandemic and that one. "Pandemics come in waves," he said, "each wave lasting about fifteen years, and then in fifty years, the next one. We won't live to see the end of this one."
