Colour and light - there’s only colour and light

I have spent the whole day singing Sondheim (above is from Sunday in the Park), listening to his songs or looking at old performances on YouTube.  I was turned onto his work by a lecturer whilst doing a drama degree and have never loved any dramatist more.   I am glad he lived until he was 91 and glad he was working until the end.

Cold today.  I went over to my mother’s and spent a (semi) hilarious time trying to get her old router to work in a house with no mobile signal, a phone handset that drops charge if you leave it out of the cradle for too long and no screwdriver that fitted the task.  On the plus side I was blessed with Bilaal, a charming, engaged, helpful man on the Plusnet helpline, who rang back every time we lost connection and the fact that my father only ever used one password so we cracked through security in no time.  It took an hour but we succeeded.

In the evening we went to the Everyman cinema in Winchester and saw House of Gucci which was very long but, largely very entertaining, I got lost a bit in the boardroom shenanigans but stayed for Lady Gaga’s brilliant performance.   Also you have got to love a cinema that delivers an Espresso Martini to your seat…
