(World Photography Day, supposedly) Shantullich farm, and the potato crop have had the above ground growth chopped. A while later near the water tank at the top of the hill, I found a single small feather on the road, under a Beech tree. Beautiful with blue and black striping to one side. Only one bird has this, and sure enough, within forty paces the likely shy donor give its single harsh call, and flew for the nearby wood, showing its a pale rump. A member of the Crow family – a Jay.
