Saturday: Usurped
I’m not sure if it’s technically another ‘atmospheric river’ but it has been raining heavily, without any let up, all day today. It’s set to do the same tomorrow.
Despite our years in British Columbia, where the local ethos is ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing’, our enthusiasm for getting wet voluntarily is limited. So we stayed pretty close to home apart from me popping out to get some noodles for lunch, and K doing a little bit of food shopping.
I did manage some social interaction by having a good chat with my friend, Mary, who lives in upstate New York. She moved there from NYC some years ago - she’s very entertaining, particular as she’s still a New Yorker through and through.
This afternoon, we watched ‘The Many Saints of Newark’, the movie that is the prequel to ‘The Sopranos’. It was excellent, one of the movies we’ve enjoyed most recently. We were very excited to read that HBO are considering a prequel series - certainly the story would lend itself very well to that.
