Dappled sunshine …

….. ….. ….. shining on the nesting chooks, with the 3rd out in the pen.
It almost looks like fire! but it’s not.
My daughter & son-in-law have been away for the weekend and I’ve been the chook minder. They’re all different & real characters.

It’s been the hottest day so far; 29°C inside this afternoon. I needed to do some clearing out in the vegetable garden but had to wait till about 4:30 - the heat was too fierce. I made pesto with the leftover leaves; parsley, spinach, basil mint, & sorrel.

Plus I sorted out photos from the DoubtfulSound trip, for a photo-show in the Lodge on Wednesday afternoon. It’s been a busy day!
