Sundown

The afternoon spaniel walk on Ashdown Forest was delayed by having to go for a Covid booster. Consequently mist was forming in the valleys and the sun was already on its way down by the time we set off. This is the view from the big flat area known, informally, as the 'cricket pitch'. I guess that troops stationed nearby during the war may have played here. The short grass is good for waxcaps and the boundaries are a frequent haunt of Dartford Warblers. Too dark to see either today.
