Home!

Fairly smooth trip home today, helped along by coffee and a donut in the airport lounge before our flight.

We met a lovely young couple on our Pompeii excursion, who were staying in the hotel next to us. They were supposed to be on the same flight out as us on Friday but missed it, due to a faff at Heathrow’s car park, and they’d had to catch a later flight to Rome then get a train to Naples - what a nightmare for them! They managed to make their flight home today and were actually sitting next to us on the plane (isn’t life full of funny coincidences?!?) and it was great to see them again.

All’s fine at home and we’re so proud of our son, who looked after both the cats and himself very well while we were away, and got to work and college with no problems at all.

Thankfully we’ve missed the government’s new travel rules so it’s back to work tomorrow for me - bleh!
