Finding A Way Through

A light dusting of snow settled on the lake ice creating some interesting patterns and shapes to play with. Impossible to get an overhead view, without a drone, I tried different lenses and heights to see what I could get.

The image reminds me of ice breakers trying to make their way through arctic. A feeling of desolation, exploration and adventure.

It's a challenge to decide where to cut off the frame edge and what to include or exclude. Breaking a shape on the edge indicates it is larger than can be seen, but also things on the edge can be a distraction. So it's a balancing game, how much resolution to provide vs how much tension.
