Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2021 Sunday — The Afterglow

This was a day to acclimate to being back on the Central Coast . . . just a nice slow day. Late in the afternoon Mr. Fun asked where we should go for dinner and I said, “We should stay right here.”

I had taken a previously cooked meatloaf out of the freezer and was planning what I would do for dinner. So, I put the meatloaf, several potatoes, an onion and a carrot in a Pyrex glass plan and placed it in the oven and quickly went thru the motions to turn on the oven. I set a timer on my phone and walked away. I never do that. I usually preheat the oven; then put the pan in the oven.

I took some photos of the sunset afterglow and entertained myself while our meal was cooking.

I came back 30 minutes later and realized the oven never turned on. The digital screen was explaining that the oven was set on “demo mode.” Well that was a shock and a serious disappointment.

We finally figured out how to get the oven off “demo” and back to normal. So we had dinner much later than I had planned, but we did have dinner and the meatloaf was delicious.

Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
