Good on you

Nomfundo bought a plastic waste bin and a bunch of cleaning materials from the stuff we brought from June’s home. We are selling the stuff rather than donating everything because the Masters Office is in such a mess it may take over a year for the house to be sold, so June’s granddaughter needs all the dosh she can to keep the insurance and municipal accounts up to date.

Anyway, when Nomfundo got home and emptied the waste bin she noticed there was a cardboard insert at the bottom that fitted perfectly. Thinking that the bin had never been used so she pulled it out.

It turned out to be one of June’s highdy holes where she stashed some cash, R1000.00 no less.

To say she was gobsmacked is putting it mildly, but did the right thing of giving it back. In return, June’s granddaughter has asked me to allow Nomfundo to select any of June’s stuff as she would like free of charge.

Honesty does pay off in the end.

But I would also like to add that Nomfundo still earns a very small amount monthly, and although we pay her rental, she supports eight other family members.

The temptation must have been huge, good on you Nomfundo.
