No swimming today

Sadly the Penzance geothermal pool was closed again today due to maintenance issues, so we didn’t get our luxury swim. Instead we went home via St Ives, always a lovely place to visit out of season, though it was cold. We had a walk, then hot soup in the Porthmeor Cafe, by the window,  just enjoying looking at the cold blue sea. See extra photo. last night we ate at the ‘world famous’ Admiral Benbow across the street from our hotel. Extra is taken from one of the comfortable hotel lounges, so you can almost fall in and out of it from our room. I didn’t notice the figure on the roof until I looked at the photo. It is a pub full of character. The food was excellent and the pub quiz good fun thanks to the eccentric quizmaster in a judges wig. Thankfully we didn’t win the sausages or the top prize- a fresh chicken. We will have to return to use the pool. It is even quite a cheap rail ticket from here to Penzance.
