Mweelrae from Ben Gorm (co. Mayo)

In Connemara for a weekend, staying in Leenane on Loch Killary (Ireland's only fjord). Came over to the Burren yesterday and stayed with J+S in Bell Harbour last night so as to have a shorter drive this morning to get to Leenane. Went up Ben Gorm, which is actually in co. Mayo, on the other side of Killary loch from Leenane, Did it from Dubh Loch to Delphi outdoor centre. It was a dull, overcast day with the cloud base at about 2000', but the could broke up a little about 2.30 and I and got this shot of Mweelrea on the way down from Ben Gorm. Mweelrea (from the Irish Cnoc Maol Réidh  --- 'bald hill with the smooth top') is probably my favourite hill in Ireland.

The extras are some moss covered rocks at the side of the road by Delphi Lodge and Assleagh falls (Irish Eas Liath --- grey falls). Aasleagh falls are a popular tourist spot on the Wild Atlantic Way.
