India Place
I am in London today for meetings and a concert at King's Place, just up the road from King's Cross Station. On my way to catching a bus to King's Cross, I walked through India Place. The building illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag is India House, the High Commission for India. It is a Grade 2 listed building that was completed in 1930. Atop the plinth is a bust of Nehru, India's first prime minister following independence in 1948. In the background is the Waldorf Hotel. The inset photo is the ceiling of the entrance to Somerset House, across the road from India Place, bathed in red floodlight.
