Beach at Gruinard Bay
"Gruinard" strikes fear and worry for many, as far as the Island of the same goes, and it lies just a couple of miles north of here.
A decalaration of safety is relatively recent following its use for early germ warfare trials. As one witty journalist commented, despite the clean bill of health, you still don't see rows of tents and caravans along its shores.
This is on our way back from Ullapool and while the icy mountains gleamed in the sunshine many were obscured by pawls of smoke rising from (out of control) moor fires.
It hasn't been mentioned on the news tonight but Facebook feeds have conveyed terrifying looking images of similar fires very close to homes on the outskirts of Fort William. I hope everyone is okay there.
