Christmas at the Botanics 2021
I have been looking forward to this evening for a long time. First we met Paddy, Caitlin, Jack, Katharine, Molly, and Ali for a visit to Christmas at the Botanics. Like last year, we took our own supplies of mulled wine to sip as we admired the displays. However, unrestricted by the lockdown measures that were in force in December 2020, we were all able to come back to our flat afterwards and continue to enjoy the evening indoors.
Our party grew by two for dinner: Alex and his fiancée Misha travelled up from London this evening so that they can be in Edinburgh to celebrate Paddy's birthday on Sunday.
With ten of us seated round the kitchen table munching our way through Lochinver pies, mushy peas and mashed potato, followed by profiteroles and then cheese, it almost felt like the olden days of our busy social life had returned for a night. Afterwards we played four rounds of Werewolf (not a single villager survived), and then Empire (Paddy and I did well with our good memories). There may have been a little dancing at the kitchen disco afterwards...
My blip is of the light show projected onto Inverleith House.
Exercise today: walking/dancing 12,089 steps.
