Cake making time?

Normally my Christmas cakes are made about 23rd December but this year they may be earlier - if only to free up some space in the cupboard!
Remembering that last year currants were unobtainable, my friend shopping in Tesco’s saw they had some so bought me a bag of currants and one of sultanas ready for my cakes. However, back in the summer I noticed the Co-op had the full range in stock so I bought currants, sultanas, raisins and cherries!
