A mega trip to the tip with MrM this morning, with the van full of wood and rubble from our bedroom. After that, vacuumed up a layer of dust from the hall, and from most of the other rooms too. It won't be for the last time!

We were fortunate to be without power for only 76 hours. Today a 'Major Incident' has been declared in Northumberland as thousands of people are still without power almost a week after Storm Arwen, and some have no water or mobile signal either. Army personnel will now be assisting the emergency services and volunteers who have been doing a sterling job in contacting those in remote areas of the county. Our MP seems to have gone AWOL - as usual, sh'e been less use than a chocolate teapot!
