A rainy day.

As usual on a Saturday mornng I drove down to the local shops. Opposite where I parked is Lucy’s Restaurant. Pre Covid there was a board on the wall outside and each day had a different quote written on it. Then the one in the blip appeared by the door and has stayed. 

On my shopping list (a last minute addition at my husband’s request) was a tub of vegetable soup. He didn’t seem to mind when I arrived home with an enormous butternut squash, a bag of carrots and one of parsnips.  I added a few bits I had in and spent the afternoon in the kitchen making a large pan of soup and there’s still veg which I’ll cook during the week. It cost about 15 pence per portion and I won’t charge him for my time :)
