I nearly fall over. Twice.
Another day of stressful phone calls to Virgin Media. Why do I do this? I do this because the service I’m paying for isn’t working.
I tried the TV. Not working. For all those sending condolences - I can get BBC 1, nothing else. Though I can get Netflix, iPlayer, All4 etc, so all is not lost. (Enjoying ‘Close to Me’ on All4). Besides, I can watch tv on my iPad. Or even read. Or listen to a podcast…
The chap immediately said ‘I’ll send a technician - apologies, but won’t be till Monday’… if I hadn’t been sitting down on the sofa I would have fallen over!
Emboldened by this positive result, I rang again, this time about being locked out of my email for two weeks. The first young lady listened to my saga, and evidently decided it was TOO HARD, and yes - the line WENT DEAD!
For some reason I tried yet again. And I got a young chap from Liverpool called Craig. He immediately declared that he could fix it. I warned him that many people before him had tried and failed. ‘Oh, they don’t know what they’re doing!’ said he, and PROCEEDED TO FIX IT! 250 emails whizzed in. Amazing. Had I not still been on the sofa, I would have collapsed in a heap.
Mind you, it’s not on any other appliances other than my iPad, but I can see, as suspected, there are no important ones, just regular ones from shops, websites etc, which are deleted straight away anyway. Though a nice one from the Premium Bonds - JR won £100 this month!
I have enlisted Robert, who is quite techie, to help me on Tuesday when he comes to get Archie…
We then went for lunch with Elizabeth to the Cafe Grande. We haven’t been there years. It’s not very ‘trendy’ and doesn’t try to be, but we were all very impressed with the extensive menu, and the quality of the meals. We’ll be back. Dog friendly too.
And guess what… it snowed! Everybody got very excited and people were up at the windows taking photos! We walked home in it, but it didn’t last, and soon turned to slush. Actually, the title should be THREE times! I did fall over on the snowy grass, but fortunately JR was there to help me up.
We wrapped Archie in his blanket to keep him from licking his paw, but to have a break from the cone.
One more day, Archie. Two more nights!
