Morning light

Morning in the Reed beds.

Leighton Moss bird reserve is made up of areas of open water surrounded by dense Reed beds. Such habitat is now rare in Britain but in our area the RSPB has worked hard to conserve and extend it.
It is loved by birds which like to hide deep in the Reeds. There are Bitterns, Bearded Tits, Water Rails and Marsh Harriers.  The Harriers can be flying over the Reeds looking for prey. But the other three examples are hard to see and take patience and luck.
Of course out in the open water there are plenty of geese and ducks to satisfy the visitors.

Many paths walk through the Reeds and pfovide opportunities for Blips like the one I have chosen for today.
