Fresco Kylie

A fresco is a type of wall painting. The term comes form the Italian word for "fresh" because plaster is applied to the walls while still wet. It is a technique of mural painting executed on freshly laid lime plaster and is closely associated with the Italian Renaissance.
You might to able to tell that today's image does not date from between the 14th and 17th centuries (the period of the Italian Renaissance). It is actually from an old newspaper review for the best film and music of 2020 which has been gathering dust on a shelf at the end of my bed and with poor light and desperation for a blip image I have imagined it as a modern day fresco of Kylie Minogue!
The review was of Kylie's album Disco, which was summed up as follows:
"The über-Kylie album thunders through the genre's history, but more than being simply disco literate, it is also a wonderfully meta exposition of how she has lived in service to the perfect pop song....Kylie's fantastical dance floor, one of catharsis and community, resonated precisely with these weird times."
You have to have a heart of stone not to love a bit of Kylie - a little ray of sunshine for the soul! I can actually think few better subjects for a modern day fresco! She is a cultural icon after all!
