Museum
Thankful to have a day off today.
Went to Earthy for Breakfast. Expensive but tasty. Wandered round town for a while. Some how ended up at the National Museum. Mrs B was a little unimpressed given that it was her day off, and she was in her place of work.
There was a large multi-coloured balloon sculpture. Not sure what it is, but I guess I thought it was vaguely like DNA, what with it being science festival and all.
Apparently however:
The 43-year-old artist was inspired by the Greek myth of Aphrodite and Eros who tied themselves together and turned into two fish to escape the evil monster Typhon who was attacking Greece.
On launching the artwork, Jason said: "I consider that story a metaphor for how life evolves and how we continue to transcend and escape our greatest threats and challenges in life."
I'll be honest, that wasn't the first thing that came to mind....
A few friends over this evening for Good Friday.
