Kaffir Lily

A friend gave me some roots of this a few years ago when I admired them flowering all over her neighbourhood in N Wales. They’ve not done much since but today I noticed the first floret, and more to come. I hope the name doesn’t cause offence, it’s widely used and the Latin name is very unmemorable. What can I say, they’re a beautiful flower.

Otherwise today was a wet bike ride (good cafe stop) and lovely long hot bath - these are the things I’ll do to put off writing my Christmas cards.
