Storm Barra

How to photograph a storm? I have tried and failed many times. Does anyone have any advice? There must be a technique but I have yet to discover it.
 
Instead I opted for a video clip today of Storm Barra which I shared on Twitter.
As the weather forecasters predicted it arrived on time was less damaging than Storm Arwen and passed within a few hours. 
 
Meanwhile my kitchen orchid came to the rescue today’s for Tiny Tuesday challenge.
