Storm Barra

Didn't spend long at my mother in law's this morning as we wanted to avoid the worst of Storm Barra. We left just after midday and the A9 was fine until just before the Drumochter summit when it became a white out with extremely strong winds. Luckily we were right behind a snow plough for a while but when it stopped to head north again we were then at the front of a long queue of traffic. It turned to heavy rain just after Pitlochry and was much calmer by the time we reached Edinburgh. 
It was lovely to see my mother in law and spend time with her but I do always feel now it would be so much easier if we were closer and able to help out more.
Started to write my Christmas cards this evening.
