Goodbye Corona

At 3.30 this morning, on my way to a very early voluntary shift, I was surprised to see all the Cheltenham Race Course buildings a blaze of lights. I assumed it was because it was a night shift clearing up from yesterday’s racing and preparing for today’s. The light pollution was concerning as it impacts negatively on the nocturnal wildlife. When races were first held here at Prestbury Park in the 1830’s electric light was in its infancy!

Later we went to hear our grandson, in Christmas Cub mode, sing community carols, outside, with his pack members. They all sang very well indeed.

You can always tell when Christmas is racing towards us as the supermarkets fill their aisles with haystacks of alcoholic drinks. Our local one was no exception as you can see from my Blip. Given the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Corona we all dearly want to say goodbye to Covid but definitely don’t want to see it ever again!
