Gaudete
I went to St Margaret’s this morning, the first time in almost two years. The timelapse less related to Covid and more to do with theological inclinations, or disinclinations. I don’t think my position has shifted but I did appreciate an excellent sermon that courageously tackled joy and the situation in which we find ourselves, and a nifty reference to a brood of vipers. An unexpected catch up as I was surreptitiously slipping out when l met J who was surreptitiously slipping in for the church lunch not having been to the service.
I was delighted that the rose candle was lit. In a previous life this had always been controversial, indeed the whole notion of Advent 3/Gaudete was contentious. I really don’t know why folk got so worked up about such things but they did.
And the Priest wore a dusky rose chasuble.
