Girls and Einstein

A day in Washington DC between trains from Boston and heading for Orlando. To be honest, it was a bit of a disaster as we were all wrecked from being up at 4:30am to get the 6:05am train.

The 20 or so geocaches dissolved into about four I the wet and windy weather, never mind the tired and fed up family.

One of the highlights was the Einstein memorial in the grounds of the National Academy of Sciences. There is an enormous statue of Einstein, with his most famous equations carved into a "paper". The base is a map of the star field on the day the statue was inaugurated. The sculpture is on a "mini-amphitheatre" which acts as a reflector. If you stand right in the centre you can hear your voice echoing back to you.

A very appropriate memorial.
