Kassie explains with props
On 13/10/20 I blipped my splinted sprained right wrist.
I coped until 01/08/21 when I found I didn’t have the strength to break the seal on a milk carton to open it.
I had a physio phone triage on 03/08/21 and after the discussion he said he was fairly certain it was soft tissue damage but he would authorise funding for 5 real sessions face to face.
23/08/21 I saw Susannah who specialises in hands 10 minutes into the session she looked at me and told me she would have to stop - there was a broken bone.
Two days later I was x-rayed and it wasn’t the bone she thought lunate) but the inner head of the radius had broken slipped and fused.
This then pressed on the carpal tunnel - the extra is my bandages hiding a 3 inch wound (no wound visible).
And tomorrow I find out whether the 3 inches of arm from the hand down are as badly affected as Susannah fears.
The moral of this is always get someone else to open your milk and then you can avoid surgery.
